According to the latest report of the International Textile Federation (ITMF), in 2022, global exports of new equipment for short fiber spindles, air spinning machines and long fiber spindles increased by 27%, 85% and 195%, respectively, while tensile spindles decreased by 13%, shuttleless looms decreased by 23%, large circular knitting machines decreased by 27%, and horizontal knitting machines decreased by 24%. All post-finishing equipment was reduced by an average of 28%.

In 2022, 9.76 million units of global staple spints were exported, an increase of 2.1 million units year-on-year, most of which were exported to Asia and Oceania (86%), where deliveries increased by 21% year-on-year. Europe (including Turkey) and the United States, with North America second and third. Exports to Africa remained low, but increased 290% year-on-year (mainly to Egypt). The biggest buyers are China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan.

In 2022, airstream spinning machines were exported to all parts of the world, with a total of 587,000 units, of which 87% were exported to Asia and Oceania, where deliveries increased 91% to 1.1 million units. China, India and Turkey were the biggest buyers, with year-on-year increases of 67%, 261% and 91%, respectively. Purchases rose in all major countries except Vietnam and Brazil, where imports fell 34 per cent and 30 per cent, respectively, to around 15,000 units.

In 2022, global exports of long-fiber (wool) spindles amounted to 93,000 units, an increase of 31,600 units, or 195%, mainly due to a 435% increase in exports to Asia and Oceania. Purchases from China, Uzbekistan and Iran increased by 21%, 20% and 15%, respectively.
