"Food, clothing, housing and transportation" concerns people's livelihood. With the continuous improvement of people's living standards, more and more waste clothing is produced by consumption, and the environmental pressure is becoming increasingly prominent. Attention has been paid to the recycling of waste textiles. How to find a better solution?

Wenwei Ren, WWF Shanghai Regional Programme Director, presented IUCN's NbS (Nature-Based Solutions) and Case Guide, which sets out actions to protect, sustainably manage and restore natural and altered ecosystems while providing human well-being and biodiversity benefits.

The industrial pilot work of hotel waste linen recycling led by China Textile Union Environmental Management Commission has achieved fruitful results in recent years. Wang Lin, director of resource comprehensive utilization business of China Textile Union Environmental Management Committee, said that circular economy is cross-industry and cross-value chain cooperation, only by strengthening industrial synergy, and forming a complete circular system and closed loop, in order to establish a model beneficial to all parties.

Feng Jiaping, executive vice president of the China Forestry Industry Federation, believes there are three main ways to implement nature-based solutions. The first is to protect natural ecosystems and biodiversity, the second is to restore and repair damaged natural ecosystems, and the third is to develop bio-based industries.

"The transformation of fungus fiber and asparagus fiber is conducive to stabilizing the supply of wood pulp raw materials." Sun Huaibin, former vice president of China Textile Association, said that the establishment of a sound fungal fiber industry chain helps to make fungal fiber a new fiber and fiber brand favored by the majority of consumers.

"As a new type of healthy raw materials, fungus weakens the dilemma of raw materials being subject to people." Zhang Jiaqi, deputy general manager and senior engineer of Xinxiang Chemical Fiber Co., LTD., said that as the production end, Xinxiang Egret should improve and further reduce costs through process innovation. It is hoped that the industry will work together to bring the fungus fiber to the market faster and more widely.

To promote the transformation of the sustainable fashion industry, all parties need to work together to help the industry find an economic and systematic overall solution to create a sustainable future for the industry. Cheng Hao, deputy director of the industry department of the China Textile Industry Federation, suggested that we should control how to reduce carbon in the production process, use green energy, and reduce sewage production from the source of the process and raw materials, and take this as a key consideration.
